The Softer Side of Luxury

Purchased with a plan to remodel and refresh the home, the clients here desired a distinctly softened style, taking some of the formality out of the existing classic Caribbean architectural details. Amanda Webster Design Inc., in conjuction with Morales Construction Company, aimed to create a more intimate feel to what began as a very grand, formal interior through a shift in materials, textures, and color scheme. By culling a subtle color palette and a combination of luxe textures like linen furnishings, woven rugs, rustic woods and forged iron, a more relaxed aesthetic was created.

A few original details of the home were maintained, especially in the formal dining room, where the crystal chandelier, carved plaster frieze and the client's large painting remained. Through the use of texture and natural hues on the walls and trim work, the space was given a more approachable ambiance to be used as an inviting area for gatherings with friends and family.
